Adventures included:
Philadelphia Museum of Art
We (Mama Dax and myself) intended to go to the Flower Show, but apparently I don't know how to read and misunderstood the dates. The website told me the show ran until March 13... and it will. In 2011. So we improvised and stopped for Middle Eastern food for lunch in the Market and ended up at the Museum. There was also an unintentional visit to New Jersey, but it was all part of the experience.

to see Copeland play one last time.
I was accompanied by Aaron (my brother) and Jimmy. The drive was seamless, although quiet at times because these two boys love to sleep.
We ate lunch at Primanti Bros., a staple of any visit to the Burgh in my experience.
My cousin Bobby stopped by and picked Aaron up to wander around, and Jimmy and I met up with friends from school/home.
We spent the day in South Side and then split up for dinner. Me and Jimmy met up with my cousin David at Fat Heads.
Running a tad late to the concert- we missed Deas Vail but made it in time for Person L, I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business, and COPELAND (!!)
Copeland has been my favorite band since seventh grade. It was a bittersweet moment to see them play on their Farewell Tour, but it was a great show so I sit here satisfied.
love love love.
Otherwise, I reveled in the goodness of being home :]
Especially hangin' with Cat. Of course.
how was the picasso exhibit? worth attending? i never know if i'm really a fan of him or not, like, i'm forced to like him because he's on both every history book and coffee mug.
ReplyDeletehabitual living equals pain in the ass to get over. let's do it together!
I enjoyed the Picasso exhibit. I'm not a die hard fan either, but I do like some of his stuff- not solely because he's Picasso. I think it can be interesting once you strip it down to an individual piece of art and evaluate it from there, instead of attributing the qualifier of "masterpiece" based on a name.
ReplyDeleteThe exhibit itself flowed nicely and included other artists as well. There was a lot of background info and factoids, which makes everything more interesting in my opinion. I just wish I had more time. Which is usually the case with me and museums :]
but yes, huzzah for teamwork! bad habits can suck it.
