For a moment,
this all made sense.
The cloudiness of my mechanical mind
cleared
Rays of understanding shone through
the murky, humid atmosphere
I felt the warmth of an answer
A sensation to qualm my constant
wondering
Anxious wondering
The sky no longer rained questions.
Just answers.
Dry.
-----
I saw you.
On a Sunday.
So nervous.
It was a mountain I needed to climb just to make it through the door.
I stalled. I panicked.
Internal screams.
But the first sight,
The first glimpse of your outline,
Your figure,
Your presence in sync with mine,
The mere reality of your existence
Put me at ease.
The mountain
The strain
vanished ---
transformed
into valleys
Wide, and endless
A whole new landscape of possibility.
Options extended into infinity, beyond the skyline,
but it did not matter.
Because finally
I was calm.
this is very well done. i especially love the line, 'It was a mountain I needed to climb just to make it through the door.' such a smart sentence.
