I'm feeling good today!
Last night I stayed up past 4:30 working on homework, once again. The main goal for my Tuesday was to go to bed early. I can still dream, right? After finally finishing the busy work that consumes my life, I crawled into bed (literally) and tried to cease the persistent train of thought, chugging along at full force. Somehow I fell asleep, probably due to my constant reminders that I need to wake back up in 3.5 hours. I thought about all the usual things that taunt me before sleep. The most basic and constant thoughts about certain things. The same thoughts that have plagued me for night on end for years on end. But I surprisingly woke up before my alarm- 7:45! So I coerced myself back into those last precious 15 mins and woke up on time, showered, and hit the road.
In my first class we discussed our upcoming research paper (blah).. it actually has the potential to be interesting because we can pick any topic that sparks our interests. I just have to actively do research and not wait until the night before. It's due in December. A curse and a blessing all wrapped up into 5-7 pages, double spaced. She also handed back our tests from Monday and I was very pleasantly surprised with my score! Each essay was worth 20 pts. and I'm guessing there were 5 to answer? I don't remember. But I only had 3 total points taken off for not referencing the texts of the authors I mentioned. Score. huzzah. happiness.
Then, in my next class, we talked about our upcoming research paper (there's a theme here. guess what it is) which is also due in December. I'm writing about something I already researched in high school. Junior year. Mrs. Ciocci. It was a good paper and the topic works, so why not reuse it? I just need to tweak some things and apply new research so it will be a little less stressful. I have enough papers to write as it is. But the cherry on top of this wednesday (ha. pun.) is that she handed back our portfolios... which contained a research paper and other essays related to doing research. Fun fun fun.
But I got a perfect score! Say what?! She handed it back to me with a smile and a nod and a "thank you!" How great is that? She also wrote a note asking permission to show my paper and cover letter to the class. I don't like to brag and I'm always very surprised by good grades, but this is pretty exciting.
Score. huzzah. happiness.
THEN I got out of presenting my project for Intro to Fashion! I won't have to do it until Monday at the earliest! I like to put those sort of things off. It's just fluff.
Score. huzzah. happiness.
I'm meeting with my advisor today.
Already planned what classes to take and when (day, time, etc).
I'm on a roll, yo.
Rockin' and rollin'.
I might even apply for jobs.
Hopefully I can keep the momentum going long enough to get homework done before tomorrow because I'm going to see INGRID MICHAELSON with friend ALLY COY in the awesome city of PITTSBURGH!!!
Score. huzzah. happiness.
Also: idkmybffGabba might be coming up for a visit this weekend! And there are actually events happening on campus that have potential to be slightly fun and interesting! A rarity!
So many good things.
Yay.
:]
huzzah huzzah! a wednesday for the books!
